How can I use my tax refund once it’s added to my Wisely card?

You can use your tax refund in a variety of ways.

Use your card for everyday purchases

Once your refund is added to your Wisely card, you can use your card on the phone, online, or in any store where Debit Mastercard^® is accepted or everywhere Visa^® debit cards are accepted. You can also add your Wisely card to your mobile wallet so you can use contactless pay anywhere Apple Pay^®, Samsung Pay^® or Google Pay^™ is accepted.

Use your card for paying bills

Paying bills using the myWisely^® app lets you initiate a bill payment in seconds with your smartphone. You can pay an unlimited number of bills if you have money in your Wisely account to cover them. Find out more about paying bills with the myWisely app.

Use your card for recurring monthly payments (such as mobile phone)

You can use your Wisely card to make monthly payments to merchants where Debit Mastercard^® is accepted or everywhere Visa^® debit cards are accepted. Contact your biller/retailer for their direct bill payment options to see if they accept card payments. Third-party fees may apply.

You can also use the bill pay services powered by Papaya by logging into your account on the myWisely^® app. Please refer to the separate terms and conditions and fees pertinent to the bill payment service provider. The myWisely^® app also allows you to schedule one-time payments in advance. The bill pay services available within the myWisely^® app do not manage recurring payments.

Under MasterCard’s Zero Liability Policy, your liability for unauthorized transactions on your Card Account is $0.00 if you notify us promptly upon becoming aware of the loss or theft, and you exercise reasonable care in safeguarding your Card from loss, theft, or unauthorized use. These provisions limiting your liability do not apply to debit transactions not processed by MasterCard or to unregistered cards.
Visa’s Zero Liability policy does not apply to certain commercial card and anonymous prepaid card transactions or transactions not processed by Visa. Amounts transferred to your savings envelope will no longer appear in your available balance. You can transfer money from your savings envelope back to your available balance at any time using the myWisely app or at mywisely.com. ↩

If you have a Wisely Pay card (see back of your card), access to certain features or loading funds from sources other than the company you received your card through requires an upgrade, which you can request in the myWisely app or by calling the number on the back of your card. Requesting an upgrade will automatically initiate an identity verification process utilizing your personal information already on file which must be validated in order to upgrade. Card may be restricted or closed if your identity cannot be verified. Upgrade may not be available to all cardholders. ↩
